Over 10 years ago I used to hang at this really cool bar in Soho called 'The Merc Bar'.
It could be easily overlooked on street view as you really couldn't tell where the entrance
was. It had really high ceilings and decor reminiscent of Montana or something like that.
They had this beautiful kayak hanging from the ceiling over by the front wall window where
the couches were.
One night, the waitress service was slow so I went to the bar to order two glasses of champers
at $12 a glass. Hanging at the bar was Mel Gibson. He was alone but talking armchair politics
with anyone who would listen. So obviously inebriated he was. As I waited for the bartender,
Mel was trying to engage me in a conversation. I just ignored him as I never cared for him and
knew he had like twelve children or something. He tried about three lines on me with the others
at the bar and I just ignored him. Got my champagne from the bartender and went back to the
couches with the hot, young Canadian I was hosting.
When Mel was exposed for partying at a bar with young women the night of the arrest for
DUI, I wasn't surprised. I would tell Catholic people this story about him when his project
'The Passion of the Christ' was in theaters and they didn't want to hear it. The sweetness
of being right, I just wallowed in the 'I told ya so' glory for weeks.
Supposedly having an affair with this Russian woman, the devout Catholic. I know an alchie
when I see one and can tell if they are in fact drinking. After 30 years old you just cannot hide
it. It shows! It shows on Christopher Walken, Alec Baldwin, Melanie Griffith and our dear OLD
Mel. He is hitting that shit HARD. A shanty-faced, anti-semitic jackass to the highest degree.

Why are you mentioning how much you paid for the "champers"? Are you trying to impress someone? Does putting other "alchie"s down make you feel better ? Remember when you point a finger at others, you're pointing three back at yourself...so go look in the mirror and judge yourself.
